Dr. Mark James

Mark James has been practicing naturopathic medicine in Flagstaff for 23 years with his wife, Dr. Mary Poore. His practice is an eclectic use of naturopathic modalities including Chinese Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathy and Botanical Medicine.

Raised in Lima, Ohio, Mark attended Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where he majored in Biology. His study of botany sparked an appreciation of the natural world that eventually led to his pursuing the study of naturopathic medicine.

He is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. There, he completed a two-year residency in Family Practice at the college teaching clinic.

He also attended the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine where he studied acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Dr. James also uses intravenous therapies as well as prolotherapy (or regenerative injection therapy - see Treatments on Home Page). Additionally, bee venom therapy (BVT) is used by Dr. James for treatment of pain, especially arthritis.

Dr. James has completed numerous marathons and ultramarathons in the 30 years he has been involved in the sport.
